Celebration and Ceremony
Mark the moment and be witnessed
Ceremonies shaped around you, such as a mother blessing before birth or a rebozo closing after it.
Who Can Benefit from Ceremony?
This work may support you if you're:
A pregnant person who wants to be celebrated and held before birth
New parents who want to close the chapter of birth and welcome a new one
Families and friends who want a meaningful way to gather and support
Anyone marking a threshold, including after a hard birth or a loss
Mother Blessings, Baby Showers, Naming Celebrations, and Closing Ceremonies. Whatever you are marking, I make it your own.
My Process
Step 1
We co-create. Together we shape the ceremony, including the people, symbols, words and pace. We pick a venue and vendors which work for you, or we reach out to your village for support with this.
Step 2
We listen. You tell me your story, what you want to mark and who you would like beside you. We think about your own cultural traditions and rites of passage.
Step 3
We hold it. I guide the ceremony on the day and make space for you to land and rest afterwards.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
WHAT TO EXPECT?
-
Before anything is planned, we talk about what you want to mark and who you would like beside you.
-
Nothing is off the shelf. The words, symbols and pace are chosen with you. We think together about your heritage and what you might be bringing to this time, and what you might want to let go of.
-
You will not be rushed away. There is space to rest and let it settle.
-
Not everyone wants a huge baby shower. Not everyone wants a mother blessing with only a few of their nearest and dearest. All budgets, all sizes, all sorts
-
My work is culturally sensitive, I don’t use any closed practices, and I don’t “borrow” from others without explicit permission. I always “cite my sources”.
Ceremony and ritual are important in celebration and in grief. My events are trauma informed and designed to be psychologically safe.
-
A gathering held before birth where the people who love you come together to nurture and honour you as you become a parent. It is about you, not the baby.
-
Also known as a closing ceremony, or “Closing of the Bones”, it is a ritual after birth that uses a woven shawl to gently wrap and hold the body, marking the end of pregnancy and birth.
It comes from traditional Mexican and Latin American postpartum practice, I was taught by Rubí Rodríguez Nieto.
-
You decide. Some ceremonies are just for you, some include a few close people, and some are larger.
-
No. Ceremonies can be as simple or as ritual-rich as you like, and I shape them around your values and beliefs.

Mother Blessings and Rebozo Ceremonies cost from £250.
Other events have bespoke pricing, so please get in touch to discuss what you have planned.
